Motivation Letter  یا Letter of Interest و معادلهای اون مثل Letter of Intent یا Letter of Application  یا Covering Letter، همه یک مفهوم دارند و درواقع نامه انگیزشی است که یک تعریف آکادمیک برای آن به صورت زیر است:

 A motivation letter as part of the online applicant e-registration. The applicants should describe their academic, professional and personal competencies, practical laboratory experience and write a preliminary study plan, including a plan for the topic of the Master’s thesis .

Maximum number of characters is 1000. Give a concise description on your motivation in participating in the chosen programme (Why should you be selected to this programme, what can this programme give to, what are your objectives, why do you want to study this particular field, etc.)

مشابه با SOP و در خیلی موارد این دو را یکسان در نظر می‌گیرند. که البته انگیزه نامه بیشتر شکل نامه رسمی دارد.

دقت کنید که از تمپلیت و نمونه‌ها برای نگارش انگیزه نامه استفاده نکنید و هرچه انگیزه نامه منحصر به فردتر و شخصی تر باشد بهتر است و تاثیر بیشتری می‌گذارد.
